Her̀tunbí began with my story. A 19-year-old girl trying to build her dreams in a world that didn’t always make room for her. I am ambitious, driven, and eager to grow, but I quickly saw how differently women were treated in spaces of opportunity. The bias was subtle sometimes, loud at other times, in the way women’s opinions were questioned, or their competence doubted before it was even tested.
I saw the silence many young women carried, the quiet strength it took to show up, to keep trying, and to demand to be seen. I saw how far women had to stretch just to be taken seriously, how often they had to work twice as hard for half the recognition. And I realized that something had to change.
I started Her̀tunbí as a reminder that every woman’s story matters. Whether she is just beginning or starting again, she deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued. Because when women are given space to thrive, they do more than succeed, they transform the world around them.
