The Affirm Her Conference: Empowering the Woman Within

Sometime Last month,I had the honour of speaking at the Affirm Her Conference, centered around the powerful theme: “Empower the Woman Within.” It was more than just a speaking engagement as i was in a conference filled with brilliant, resilient, and ambitious women, I was reminded of exactly why Hertunbí exists.

When I started Hertunbí, my intention was simple: to create a space where women could step boldly into the rooms where decisions are made, where opportunities are created, and where impact happens. Not someday — now.

At the conference, I shared my personal journey, from studying computer science, to realizing in my 300-level that I was naturally a project manager (all thanks to planning my sister’s bridal shower!), to eventually building fashion, tech, and women-centered initiatives that reflect who I truly am. The response in the room showed me something powerful: women are ready. Ready to own their voices. Ready to build. Ready to take up space.

Hertunbí is growing, and this conference was a reminder that the mission is bigger than me. It’s about every woman who has ever felt small, overlooked, or underestimated and is finally choosing to rise.

To the organizer(The Affirm Her Project), the women who attended, and every soul that connected with my message: thank you. The movement has only just begun.

Hertunbí is more than a name. It is a declaration.

A reminder that no matter where you are, you can rise again.
You can rewrite your story.
You can step into the fullness of who you’re becoming.
